Welcome Shaylee Carter....

Shaylee Carter entered the world at 5:37am on November the 5th 2011 weighing in at 4lbs 11oz and 17" long. She was born at 33 weeks, so 7 weeks early. She is my miracle baby.

Seeing her daddy for the first time! What a proud papa.

Are first picture with are little princess.

Are amazing doctor that took amazing care of me and are precious baby. Dr. Cain is so wonderful, couldn't have asked for a better doctor.

Her tiny little foot! She had the smallest feet imaginable.

Shawn's wedding ring was bigger then the whole top of her hand. They look big in the picture but they are super tiny.

Daddy visiting in the NICU.

Shawn brought the kids into the NICU to see their baby sister. They could only come one time and it couldn't be longer then 15 min. But they loved every minute of it and they love her so much.

Shaylee's feeding tube because she would not nurse for the first day.

That diaper is a preemie diaper...It is huge on her.

She had to stayy in the incubator because she could not keep up her own tempiture by herself. She could only come out it to nurse for 30min. at a time.

I love my little Princess.

Shawn's wedding ring.

She had jaundice just like the other kids, but they caught hers quick and was able to get it down just after three days under the photo therapy.

She looks like daddies little elf.

One of my favorite pictures. So precious!

She is hungry and she wants to eat RIGHT NOW!!!

Daddies two princesses!

Harlie's Bunny is bigger then Shaylee.

She is so tiny in the rocking chair!

Shawn's favorite preemie outfit. He LOVES her bunnies!

She looks like a doll.

We just love are sister!

BIG EYES!!

Harlie playing mommy and rocking Shaylee to sleep. She was so proud.

Harlie fell asleep while rocking her little sister to sleep. This picture is so Precious, I just LOVE it.

Shaylee and baby Yori. 5 days apart and BEST FRIENDS!

So finally after going into labor at 27 weeks I was able to stay down for bed rest and keep her in until 33 weeks. Luckily I did everything I could preparing for her to come early. I got the steroid shots to help her lungs develop. Two sets of them so 4shots total. She did not need any respiratory help at all when she was born because those shots developed her lungs more like she was 36 weeks instead of 33. She went into the NICU immediately after she was born for, low glucose levels and for not keeping her temp on her own. While in the NICU they checked for infection because my water had been broke for over 12 hours so we were both at high risk for infection. Shaylee unfortunately caught an infection and was put on antibiotics right away. She was also checked for Jaundice and had a high count so they started her under the photo therapy lights. Even though my princess was born so early she has a strong will to live and got better very quickly and she only spent a 6 days in the NICU, when babies that are born this early are there for minimum a month. So we are very lucky and grateful that she is doing so well. We love you Shaybug! :)
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
